Roads to Peace?

The Future of Infrastructure in Fragile and Conflict-Affected States

Does infrastructure spending really help stabilize fragile and conflict-affected areas?

INFRASTRUCTURE constitutes a large portion of contemporary donor spending on fragile and conflict-affected states. But we know little about its impact. DIIS and UNOPS bring together key stakeholders in infrastructure projects in fragile and conflict-affected states—donors, practitioners and high-level decision makers—for a high-level workshop to learn from their shared experience, to build upon successes and understand the risks associated with this sector. The workshop outcomes will lead to a joint DIIS/UNOPS report aimed at informing future governance for delivery of the SDGs in fragile and conflict-affected states.
